During the tenth stage of the Giro d'Italia, Team LottoNL-Jumbo has shown itself. In the longest stage of this Giro, the formation of manager Richard Plugge was represented in the early breakaway by Koen Bouwman. Because the number two in the overall standing was dropped from the first peloton, the breakaway didn't get a lot of space. After it was caught, Bouwman and Gesink managed the pace of the peloton for more than one hundred kilometres in favour of team leader George Bennett and Enrico Battaglin. The latter eventually finished fourth. For Team LottoNL-Jumbo it’s already the seventh top five result out of ten stages in this Giro.
