LottoNL-Jumbo focuses on time-trial in Poland

Team LottoNL-Jumbo will race the Tour of Poland next week with an eye on the final stage, a 25-kilometre time trial in Krakow. The Dutch team takes two time trial specialists with Primoz Roglic and Victor Campenaerts, with the former also racing for the overall in the seven-day race. Moreno Hofland will lead in the sprints.

"The last day is an important goal with Campenaerts and Roglic, they both won their national championships and we know that they are real specialists," Sports Director Addy Engels said.

"The Tour of Poland has always been a fairly close race, if there are enough sprinters, the first stages often finish in a bunch sprint. Should that happen, we have Moreno Hofland. The bunch sprints will also create minor differences so the classification will be decided in the queen stage and the closing time trial. "

Primoz Roglic

"In the Tour of Poland, the time differences are often small and as long Roglic doesn’t lose time he could use his time trial to get a good ranking,” continued Engels.

Roglic rested after the Giro d’Italia and raced at the national championships.

“I trained for the Tour of Poland. It’s the first time that I'm going to race in the Tour of Poland,” Slovenian Primoz Roglic said.

"The queen stage [6] is tough, but I see that as a challenge. A day later, I can show my beautiful national champion jersey in the time trial. It's a flat time trial. Lately, I have been working a lot on my ability and I'm curious how that will pay off in a flat time trial."

To do well overall, Roglic has to be good in sixth, said Engels. "The penultimate stage is the same as in the previous editions, one for the GC riders.”
