Roglic seventh in Giro dell’Emilia

Primoz Roglic has finished seventh in the Giro dell’Emilia. The 28-year-old leader of Team LottoNL-Jumbo battled for the second place in the pouring rain on the final climb to San Luca. Both Roglic and Steven Kruijswijk raced combatively.

“The Giro dell'Emilia is one of the most honest races on the calendar”, sports director Addy Engels said. “With such a tough climb, which had to be climbed five times, the strongest rider has won. Primoz was clearly the best of us and we can certainly live with the seventh place. After his crash in the world championship last week, he has proven that his shape is still good towards the upcoming Italian races.”
