Roglic sixth in Tour of Britain's tough second stage

Primoz Roglic finished in sixth place in the second stage of the Tour of Britain today. The leader of Team LottoNL-Jumbo closed the difficult stage to Barnstaple in the group along with the other favourites. In the general classification, the 28-year-old Slovenian moved up to ninth place. He is twelve seconds behind race leader Alessandro Tonelli.

Team LottoNL-Jumbo did well during the stage also with Jos van Emden, Pascal Eenkhoorn and birthday boy Neilson Powless in the line of fire.
They marked an early breakaway of two riders who battled for the stage victory. The Roglic group came as close as two seconds.

"Our focus was on the tough final climb, a little wall. We crossed the climb very well as a team," Sports Director Jan Boven said.  "The team did well, with Primoz in the group of GC favourites and Pascal, Jos and Neilson in a group shortly behind. Pascal and Neilson attacked, but did not get away.

"It is a pity that Koen was involved in a crash just before that final climb, otherwise he would have also been there. He has some pain in his knee and elbow."
