Team LottoNL-Jumbo sixth in Hammer Series Stavanger

Team LottoNL-Jumbo has finished in sixth place in the first edition of the Hammer Series in Stavanger. The formation of sports director Jan Boven started the almost fifty kilometre long Hammer Chase also as sixth. The teams started in order of the classification and had to chase each other with fixed time intervals.

“We are very happy with this sixth place”, said Antwan Tolhoek, who collected the most points for Team LottoNL-Jumbo over the past days. “We gave everything we had with this team. Day in, day out. This is a nice result for us.”

Tolhoek looked back with a good feeling on his first Hammer Series. “The Hammer Climb was really nice for me, the Hammer sprint was a lot less difficult, but I could also collect some valuable points a few times because there was a climb in it. I also knew that I had to do it in these two disciplines as the team pursuit is not my thing. In that discipline, the other four guys did a really great job."

“The past three days were really difficult, but it’s a nice concept”, Pascal Eenkhoorn said. “The chase went well, we were all pretty tired but we worked together well and rode a great time trial.”
