Team LottoNL-Jumbo starts cooperation with performance analysis software INSCYD

Team LottoNL-Jumbo has started a cooperation with INSCYD. This is software that monitors the physiological capacities and training effects of the riders. It provides a thorough picture of the shape of the riders, as well as their strengths and weaknesses.

Head of Performance Mathieu Heijboer explains how INSCYD works. “We can even use a variety of different efforts in trainings as a substitute for a designated testing session. After the effort, you will have to examine the blood lactate level. After that, upload the data to the software, for example data about power and lactate. The results will show a clear picture of the shape of the rider at that moment.” In the end, it will improve the quality of training. “Based on the analyses of INSCYD, the coaches can correct the training they prescribed. We can control wether the training resulted in the particular improvements the coach pursued, and correct where needed.”

This means that fewer test moments need to be installed. “It’s an added value”, Heijboer said. “The test will become part of the training more and more. Our riders live all over the world. They don’t have to come to a fixed location, every rider can do it at home.“
